Matcha Green Tea Latte Concentrate by Tazo Tea

Item Size: Two 32-oz. Cartons

A delicious blend of lightly sweetened Matcha green tea from Japan, accented with hints of melon and ripe tropical fruits. With one sip, you reincarnate the original spirit of enlightenment that may have inspired the Japanese tea ceremony.

Matcha, the ceremonial green tea of Japan, is made from freshly picked green tea leaves ground into a fine powder and mixed with water in the traditional fashion. With guidance from ancient scrolls and a haiku or two, Tazo® adds hints of honeydew melon and tropical fruits to create a combination that, when mixed with milk, is equally inspiring served hot or over ice.

Ingredients: An infusion of (water, matcha and other green teas), organic cane sugar, honeydew juice concentrate, natural fruit flavors, gum, Arabic, xanthan gum, guar gum and citric acid.

Tazo® was created for one purpose: to reinvent tea and the tea experience. By using high quality ingredients and a tremendous amount of experience and creativity, Tazo® has produced unique products that create an emotional connection with the consumer at many levels. Tazo® continues to expose consumers to the ancient traditions of tea, but presents this in a way that is bold, interesting and intriguing.

Unlike other tea companies, Tazo® purchases teas in their original container as packed at the garden to ensure the tea inside the chest or bag stays garden fresh and is not exposed to the heat and moisture in a blending facility at one of the tea shipping points.

The blending process is a very subtle art form that relies on subjective measurement of taste, color and aroma. Tazo® constantly taste and determine which teas will go in which blend in what percentage, so flavor profiles remain consistent and of the highest quality possible.

The name Tazo® has roots in many civilizations. Tazo actually means "river of life" in the Romany Gypsy language and was used as a toast to life by ancient Greeks. Tazo also means "fresh" in several Hindi dialects. In ancient Babylonia, Tazo was a rejuvenating elixir thought to have magical properties.

Tazo® is kosher certified by KSA.

I prefer the Chai Tea Latte over the matcha green latte, but it is good nonetheless. I think for me its just a matter of personal taste. The difference is the spices and Matcha has a melon taste that comes across as a little too sweet for me.

I have fallen in love with the green tea lattes that I have had at the Starbucks Stores. Since purchasing a DeLongi cappacino maker from Starbucks, and enjoying it our lattes and cappacinos at home, we thought that the purchase of the Matcha Green Tea Latte Concentrate would fill in for what we purchased in the store. Unfortunately, it does not compare. Having asked one of the store managers about the difference, we have found out that the stores use a powder, not a concentrate. Using the powder creates a much better drink. When asked if I could purchase the powder mix, I was told that it is not for sale to individuals. I believe that if you would offer both the powder and the concentrate, you would have a much better sales offering. Will I continue to use the concentrate, yes because that is all that is out there when I am unable to get to a store.
