Xbox 360Like a child waiting for his birthday present to be revealed, I waited with bated breath for the launch of the Xbox 360. I had heard about it, read some snippets of the gaming device on the television and now was waiting to get my hands on it. I knew I wouldn’t be buying it but was sure to visit the stores to play some games and try out the device. I was hooked on PlayStation 1 and 2, could spend hours playing games with my cousin and not knowing where time flew by. Although I haven’t seen too many of Microsoft’s gaming devices, I had no expectations of the Xbox but for the fact that it was said to be better than the PlayStation 2.

Recently, I saw a TV show on Gadgets where they discussed the Xbox 360 in detail. The host was talking about how the Xbox 360 came with an impressive set of technical features, combined with its sleek looks, it was making heads turn. It came with multiple media options and had the ability to play audio and video files as well. It could also be synchronized with your iPod and you could enjoy the songs, or movie clippings from the same.

Anyways, I was waiting for the launch and I made my way to the nearest store where I was sure to catch a glimpse of the white beauty. The sharp appearance with the white and grey colors did give it a feel of class but would it match upto it in terms of games and effects was a question running through my mind. For those who enjoy watching movies on their DVD player, the Xbox makes life easy. You can load in your favorite DVD player and once connected to the TV, savor the joy of stars coming alive.

It is a rectangular box attached to a 20GB hard drive along with a wireless controller, and a media remote control. It also has two memory card slots for you to store saved games so you can resume from where you left off next time you turn it on. Apart from this, the Xbox goes beyond being just a gaming console; it can be used to access information and pictures from your digital camera, or via other portable storage devices like the USB cable or pen drive. The games available are interesting and I have heard they come up new games almost every month. The only catch is the big price tag on the gaming console and the games, which are bound to make many think twice before buying it.

By spending a few minutes on the Xbox 360, I was just as involved in the game as I was on my PS2, and this was just as exciting if not more. The games were all exciting and the clarity is amazing, you can see that it truly is High definition and about to create a revolution in the gaming arena.
