Normandy is a word familiar to many, especially those who are keen on the events of World War II. Incidentally, it is the place of invasion, for which it is the place where the Allies invaded German-occupied Europe during the second World War. In order to commemorate that fine day of June 6, 1944 (also known as D-Day), this game was created.

Secret Weapons Over Normandy, SWON for short, is a game that circles around an elite squadron of fighter pilots, with the main character, James Chase. Chase is an American pilot working in the RAF during WWII. He was a man with great ambition, one who is determined to stop the German war machine from reigning over the entire European continent. Chase works for an elite squadron of international fighter pilots known as the BattleHawks. This was highly classified information until governments decided to release them. The BattleHawks flew many secret missions that are unknown to the world at that time, including sabotage missions to key location of occupied Europe.

The game brings players to Europe and the Asia Pacific region during the years of WWII. Players would get the opportunity to fly various aircrafts, from the humble British Hurricane to the advanced German jet plane, the ME262. The game consists of fifthteen objective missions that brings the players around the globe to counter the attacks of the Axis powers, mainly Germany and Japan. Players could also have the chance to upgrade their aircrafts and earn, or capture new ones. As history suggests, the main enemy is the German Luftwaffe (German Air Force), especially the ace fighters of the Third Reich, simply known as Nemesis, commanded by Oberst Krieger. Not forgetting the gruesome dogfights over the Pacific, players would also have the opportunity to face off against the Japanese Air Force.

It is a flight simulation action game, where players control the aircraft in real time and engage in challenging battles against the enemy fighter. For those who are not used to how planes fly the actual way, the game is kind enough to offer an arcade way of control, where the directional buttons would reflect directly on how the plane flies such as when one pulls the trottle up, the aircrafts nose is supposed to pitch downwards, but for the player's sake, the plane can be configure to pitch upwards instead. This saves the trouble of many players fumbling over the controls the first time they play the game.

Plane models include the actual fighters as well as prototype planes, added to make the game more interesting by increasing the number of avaliable planes to fly. For example, the German Ju 390 Junkers were used in small amounts and never flew actual combact but for the game, players could still control this plane and play a mission through it. Not all information of the game could be trusted entirely but, it is still largely based on actual historic facts of James Chase and the BattleHawks.

For those who like to play flight simulation games and also action games, Secret Weapons Over Normandy could be your game. However, the limited number of playable missions may make one reconsider about buying the game since the multiplayer function doesn't really work well due to the lack of players.

If someone were to ask for one word to describe this movie, there would be none. Some movies need a lot more than just a word to portray them and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008) certainly falls into the category. Coming from the stables of a director with precedents like Se7en and Fight Club and the writer of Forrest Gump, the movie owes it central concept to a short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Nominated for a record 13 Academy awards or Oscars as they are popularly called, the movie won three of them apart from the numerous other laurels it received since it was released in December, 2008.

Spanning hours and continents, the movie is an epic tale of love and discovery for a man who is born old and ages backwards. They say fact is stranger is than fiction but when fiction is brought to the world with such outstanding performances, you tend to believe otherwise. Abandoned by his father and born as a man who looks to be on his death bed, Benjamin Button (Brad Pitt) learns to fight his fate with his surrogate mother Queenie (Taraji Henson) who adopts him and grows young as he watches his family and friends age. The movie showcases his adventures with life as he travels the world growing stronger by the day, making new friends while losing others. The other constant thing apart from Benjamin Button in this movie which, like Forrest Gump covers so many different facets, is Daisy (Cate Blanchett), the woman he loves and with whom his fate seems to be intertwined.

As has been said numerous times, there is no doubt about the fact that the technology used, the CGI and makeup, are marvelous to say the least and without them, the movie could not have done justice to the brilliant concept of Mr. Fitzgerald. But overshadowing the technological marvels are the performances of the movie’s protagonists. You can use technology to make a man in the mid forties look 80 years old and a 40 year old woman like a 19 year girl but you need performances that would convince the audience about the same.

You do not need to be a Pitt or Blanchett fan to like The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008) and the only things someone could come up with against it would be trivial stuff that you should not be worried too much about if you are going to watch a movie. The movie is a bit longer than two and a half hours and there are moments where you may feel like it stalls but those are compensated by the ones where it enthralls.

A note here for the fans of Fitzgerald. The movie is only loosely based on the story and does not follow it completely. If you go with the expectation to see the story brought to life, you would be disappointed. Do not compare it with the book; it’s the central concept only that has been taken from the book and not the story itself.

Watch it and see how life is lived even when it’s not what you expected it to be. And of course, its not often you get to see a man age backwards.

Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man: What Men Really Think About Love, Relationships, Intimacy, and Commitment is one of the nice novels, written by Steve Harvey. The book seems to be really interesting for all the classes of readers; irrespective of their gender, nationality, religion and the like. Even though this book is dedicated to all women, it definitely seems to be interesting even to all men, as well.

As the title itself suggests the fact that the book is basically written with the writer’s intension, to make the readers aware of the plus points of both men and women as a whole. That is, the women’s strength in relation to the action and the men’s strength with respect to the aspect of thinking. In other words, the author expresses enthusiastically his generalized views about both genders.

Apart from that, he has tried his level best to create a perceivably perfect combination of men and women; from the perspective of women. It is clearly understood through the title and the introductory page itself, which states as, ‘Steve lets women inside the mindset of men’. The author has proved himself to be a good observer, comparer and more than everything else, a nice narrator. Because he takes the reader, deep into the each and every minute aspects of prime concern, which can be noticed to be continuously revolving around the core matter, throughout this book.

In this book, as he describes himself at the outset, he has well described about what men really think about intimacy, relationships, love and commitment. He has also shed light on concepts and questions such as ‘Five questions that every women should ask a man to determine how serious he is’, ‘When to introduce the kids’ and more. The book is rightly seemed to be sometimes direct and sometimes funny, but always truthful. After reading it, everyone probably feel that all women must and should read this novel without fail, if at all they want to identify with how men think, when it comes to the matter of relationships.

The author’s hope is to empower all women with a wide-open look into the minds of men, as directly expressed by the writer itself. Initially, the author talks about the mind set of a man, as the title of the first phase is named. Under this, he talks in detail about the aspect, which drives men towards women. He also made a successful attempt in differentiating the love of men from that of women. Here, he even explains about the significance of the three things, that every man needs, such as cookie, loyalty and support.

In the second phase, the book explains how women can know about why men do anything, ‘what they do’. Also, reveals the aspect of men’s first expectation from women, whom they themselves approach since their first meeting itself. It even helps women in knowing how men distinguish between those women, who are chosen for their lifetime; and those women, who are just used and thrown away after the use.

In the final phase, it also suggests some of the useful tips for women to win over the minds of men. Thus, we can say that Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man acts as a mandatory guide for all women. And like an attractive mirror for all men.
