Editing images can be a pain. No I'm not referring to Photoshop or GIMP, rather, for many of us it's a hassle to even rotate or resize a picture. While it seems simple at first, many people might open up Photoshop simply because they need to rotate a picture which is quite an overkill. Sure, there are probably a thousand and one desktop applications out there that can do the job, but it still seems unnecessary to download and install a program simply because you need to rotate a photo now and then. With the advent of Web 2.0, online applications have been popping up that will help you with this problem as many of them are online picture editing softwares. One such site would be Snipshot.
The front page of Snipshot is simple enough, all you have to do is choose the picture that you want to edit and upload it. You'll then be brought to the picture editing page: this is where the fun begins. Despite being a web application, it has plenty of features that many full blown desktop applications would have. First, you have the simple rotate function that will rotate your picture 90 degrees clockwise, the crop function that will allow you to cut out a desired portion of the picture and the picture may also be resized simply by dragging the corners and sides of the picture, exactly the same way which you'd resize any picture in almost every other program. Thus making for an extremely intuitive user interface as much of it is either pretty self-explanatory or extremely common elsewhere, making it easy for anyone to use it.
However, Snipshot has even more advanced features than just that. First of which is the enhance function. It is supposed to automatically adjust the picture to make it look sharper and clearer. Unfortunately I have used this function with varying results, at times the picture looks like it was never edited in the first place. However, when that fails, Snipshot also has a full blown adjust panel. One is able to adjust the size of the image by entering the specific height and width, the angle of tilt of the image, exposure, contrast, saturation, hue and even sharpness. These functions work extremely well and the result you get is almost always the same as what you'd get in any desktop application. If you feel that you've adjusted your image wrongly, there's always the option to undo each step or reset all the sliders at one go, thus there's no worry about messing up your image.
After you're done with editing the image, you are then able to download the edited into the image into your computer by hitting the "Save" button. The great thing about Snipshot is that you're able to save it in 6 different formats: JPG, GIF, PNG, TIF, even PSD and PDF. It's impossible to find a format which you're not comfortable with. If you would rather not save the picture on to your computer, Snipshot also provides you with the option of saving it directly to WebShots, thus ensuring that no matter what, you'll be able to keep a copy of that image even if you're on a public computer.
All in all, while many people might still prefer desktop applications due to it being slightly more responsive and also it "feeling" more natural to people who are used to doing their work offline, there's no doubt that web applications such as Snipshot will be a lifesaver for many of us. This is so because no matter where you are and no matter what computer you're on, as long as you're using a decent web browser and access to the internet is available, you'll be able to take advantage of the power of these web applications. And Snipshot will certainly fit the bill for being your one stop solution for all your image editing problems.

While not everybody would have heard of him, John Grisham has been credited as one of the best authors of our time. In fact, he holds the title for authoring a number one bestselling novel of the year for seven consecutive years, from 1994 to 2000. He is famous for various novels such as The Firm and The Rainmaker, both of which have been adapted into major motion picture films in 1993 and 1997 respectively. While The Last Juror isn't exactly one of his more famous works, it is still worthy of being a John Grisham novel.
This band certainly needs no introduction, having formed 11 years ago and since then selling more than 50 million albums and winning 2 Grammies along the way, first known as Xero back in 1996, then as Hybrid Theory, and the band that finally became Linkin Park some time around 1999 is surely one of the most popular rock bands out there. Both of its previous 2 studio albums have been major successes, with Hybrid Theory selling more than 5 million copies and Meteora reaching 6x Platinum. Now, after a 4 year long hiatus of not releasing any studio albums, Linkin Park is finally back with their new album, Minutes to Midnight.
Over the years, Disney has been known to produce really great movies, be it in the form of animated films (Toy Story and Finding Nemo, just to name a few) or motion picture films. The magic of Disney films is that anybody from any age group can enjoy them as they've managed to capture everyone with their heart-moving tales. Many of their films have also been very inspirational and will definitely affect everyone who has watched any of them, leaving them to continuously ponder about the film long after they have watched it. Besides "Remember the Titans", which is probably one of the most popular Disney films, there's also a lesser known film entitled "The Rookie" that was released 5 years ago back in 2002.
