Payday is always a big day for anyone who’s working. The idea of finally getting your just rewards after a month long of slogging your guts out will undoubtedly bring a smile to many people’s faces. However, there are times when we can’t wait till the day itself to get the money, rather many a times we need the money at this very instant. It then gets frustrating when you realise that you have to wait at least a few more days or even a week before you can get that required money. When the need arises, many people might choose to turn to either payday loans or a cash advance to get the much desired funds. Yet many have no idea how to do so, thankfully there are sites out there such as Juridical Data that will help you in this area.

As Juridical Data describes itself as, it “has everything you need for getting help with your payday loans or cash advance. We have a list of over 30,000 cities and places to get the help you need”. Therefore as long as you live in the USA, this site has you covered as it has records on almost all the stores in the country that will allow you to get the cash you need. Unfortunately, if you live outside of the USA, Juridical Data will be of little help to you since it does not have records of stores that are overseas.

Furthermore, Juridical Data also recommends using one of the two online companies that they have recommended since it might be a more convenient for some as it will save you the trouble of searching for the store. There has been positive feedback by users of such online companies, thus they are definitely a viable alternative.

Sex and the City (TV Series)

ReviewColumn’s rating :
3 stars

Sex and The CityImagine this. A guide book in understanding women’s thoughts. I bet many men would flock to the bookstore to get a copy. If you are a male and often struggle in keeping a cool head with women, I would recommend watching “Sex and the City” the series. Why? Well, it is basically all you need to know about women in a nutshell. To be precise, the nutshell spans of 6 seasons, with each season average out to 12 episodes. Season 1 sets the background for the 4 main casts being Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), a journalist who writes for a sex column. Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall) who has a strong opinion of her own sexual desires. A too good to be true womanly figure, Charlotte York (Kristin Davis). Evidently her only cons is her compulsive buying for shoes. Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon), a successful lawyer who fails to find a competent partner in life.

With four casts in the series, the focus span on each character is fairly minimal and their life story progresses like a snail. You really need to build the patience to gather fully how each character unfolds their life in each episode. First lesson in understanding women - patience. Men need patience to comprehend a woman.

Personally, by the 3rd season, I could hardly recall how and when the characters became who they were. Thus, following the series faithfully isn’t really critical if your intention is to discover the facts, the gossips, the troubles, the mindful thoughts of a woman. In this case, 4 women. While doing that, you can probably mindfully compare the characteristic of the characters with your own female partner, companion, spouse or friend. Just make sure she doesn’t find out, or you’ll be toasted alive !

Allow me to recap some interesting titles that stay fresh in my mind. In random order, the list is as below:

  1. Why women compare oneself with others, particularly with someone with better physical appearance?
  2. Why sometimes women don’t introduce their boyfriends to their friends?
  3. How women handle break ups?
  4. Do you have to play games to make a relationship work? Some women actually believe in that.
  5. Not all women need to be rescued, however it’s nice to receive offers. When to offer and when to sit back ?

If any of the titles strikes an interest to you or rather feeds your curiosity about women’s behavior, it’s about time to hit the store and get yourself some Sex. Oops .. I mean “Sex and the City” DVDs. Be warned though, only strong men can handle the truth.

Alternatively, you can wait for “Sex and the City“, the movie next year.

Boxhead: More Rooms

Boxhead: More Rooms
Screenshot of Boxhead: More Rooms

With so many games constantly being released on the PC, it’s become the favourite gaming machine for many people as it’s arguably the best platform to play first person shooters on, though console fanboys (Xbox 360 and PS3 alike) will beg to differ. However, besides these great video games that require an insanely new graphics card and loads of RAM to play, many people often forget that there are countless flash games online for you to enjoy. While some of these are definitely substandard (as doing the dishes would probably be more fun that playing them), there are still many out there that will make you waste hours and hours on them since they’re so ridiculously fun and addictive due to their simplicity. One such game that most people won’t stop playing anytime soon is Boxhead: More Rooms.

Boxhead: More Rooms is an online flash game that is able to be played using any decent web browser which has the Flash plugin installed. The game itself is something like a side scroller, but as the name somewhat suggests you’re in a single room. Don’t be fooled by the seemingly violent screenshot with so much blood all over the place, in actual fact it’s a really fun game. Basically, the objective of the game is to survive as long as possible while killing as many boxy zombies at the same time. It’s seriously that simple, however the way in which you kill zombies is the fun part. Initially, you start off with a lowly pistol that you have to use to take on the first wave of zombies. However, as you kill more and more zombies, your score multiplier will slowly increase and as your multiplier goes higher and higher, you gain even more weapons, ranging from a shotgun to a rocket launcher, or upgrades to the weapons which you currently have, such as an increase in the maximum amount of ammunitions you can hold or the amount of damage your weapon does. While this may sound boring to some, it’ll become immediately apparent as to how fun the game is with this system once you start playing it. You get 10 weapons over the course of the game, with the more advanced weapons being extremely hard to obtain since the multiplier required is so high and you might not be able to kill zombies fast enough. You get weapons such as grenades which split into 4 separate grenades when you throw one of them, explosive barrels which do massive amounts of damage to the surrounding area when fired at, claymores which activate when a zombie steps over it and then proceeds to explode right under their feet (or rather stumps), a rocket launcher that you’ll undoubtedly use to accidentally kill yourself one too many times as the splash damage it does is really too big. There are a lot more weapons such as your railgun, your good old UZI and several other weapons.

While this game might be quite pointless as the only thing you’re aiming for is to obtain as high a score as possible, one will definitely enjoy oneself thoroughly while you’re playing this game. The secret to this game is simply in its simplicity. Arrow keys to move your character around the screen, the numerical keys to change the current weapon you’re using and the spacebar to shoot, how much harder could it get? Almost anyone who starts playing this game will immediately be able to start enjoying him or herself by killing zombies using the game’s unique weapons. While this might seem violent or almost lame at first, you’ll no doubt begin to laugh at the pure stupidity of this game and in the process of doing so enjoy yourself. In my opinion this game has found the perfect balance between being simple enough to pick up and play and yet have sufficient depth to keep people playing it which is not an easy thing to do. Most flash games are either too complicated to start playing as they’re simply not worth your time to try to learn how to play it, while others might be fun initially, but after doing the same thing over and over again for some time, the game gets boring quickly. Boxhead: More Rooms definitely does not have this problem as you’ll definitely come back to play this game time and time again whenever you have some spare time on your hands.

One of the reasons why I chose to write about this game is because, like almost every other flash game online, it’s completely free. There are so many links all over the web to this game and a simple google search should return plenty of relevant results. For easy reference, the link to the original game on the creator’s website can be found here.

SeeqPod.com

ReviewColumn’s rating :

SeeqPod

Trying to find your favorite songs online is not an easy task as they’re probably scattered all around the entire world wide web. However, now that technology has advanced till the point where webpages are no longer simply static pages that have text and pictures on them, more and more websites are popping up all over the web that will help make everyone’s online life a bit easier. SeeqPod.com is one such site that will definitely appeal to anyone who likes to listen to music.

SeeqPod.com is a search engine which indexes every single music, music video and even podcast that is available to the general public on the world wide web. With the huge number of pages which the world wide web has, SeeqPod will almost always be able to find the song or music video which you are looking for. However, SeeqPod is not only a search engine for music, but also an online music player in your browser. Once you have found the song which you are look for, you can then add that to your playlist on the right of the screen and SeeqPod will automatically start playing the specified song. As you find even more songs that you like while listening to a certain track, that song can then be added to the playlist as well so that it will immediately play after the current track ends. This in built music player will definitely make it a lot easier for most people who just want to stream music to their computer there and then instead of going through all the trouble to download it and open it in a music player.

Furthermore, SeeqPod still has a few other extra features that will make the site all the more interesting. First of which is the PodCrawler. Basically it shows what songs SeeqPod is currently indexing, the songs will slowly scroll by one by one, thus allowing you to click on any of them to listen to it immediately. This is a great way to discover new music as you usually won’t know what song you are about to listen to. Another useful feature is the “Discover” button, basically it acts as a suggestion button, showing you a list of other songs that SeeqPod has already indexed that are similar to the song that you are currently listening to. Thus you’ll be able to find new music that is similar to the songs which you already like, hence allowing you to “Discover” (as the name implies) more music that you will definitely enjoy.

While there are indeed many other sites out there that will also allow you to listen to music, such as the popular Pandora, not all of them will allow you to search the entire world wide web for every single song out there. Hence, SeeqPod.com will definitely become a popular way for you to find and listen to music.

Saw I, II and III

Saw I, II and III

Hello. You don’t know me. I want to play a game with you. You lived your life helping others and forgetting your own needs. When will you stand up for yourself ? This is your chance, it’s now or never. In this room, lays your dear friend, Augustine. His head is attached to a device that will snap in 1 minute if you do not save him. The key to unlock the device is sewn on your right ventricle in your heart. Will you rip your heart open and save his life or will you save your own ? How selfless are you? Let the game begin.

Life is full of choices. Sometimes we get sucked so deeply into our hectic lives that most of the time we neglect to take care of our own needs. The themes behind Saw I, II and III reflect fully the choices we have in life. Albeit the “villain” in the movie who is known as “The Jigsaw” is seen as one who is cruel in his actions, if you look deeply at his real intentions, his cruelty is indeed a step to guide the lost souls back to their lives. “The Jigsaw” obtained its famous name in Saw I when the plot started with a man who could literally walk through sharp wires and in an attempt to save his pathetic life, fails to do so and as a result his earthy body was cut into jigsaw pieces. The man failed because he gave up half way, he couldn’t withstand the pain. On the other hand, “The Jigsaw” helped a drug addict who couldn’t stay clean. She then found reasons to appreciate her own life, after successfully escaping “The Jigsaw” device. This rehabilitated drug addict character acts merely as a minor role in Saw I, but she evolves into a bigger role in Saw II and Saw III. Saw I questions a man’s commitment to his family, gives meanings to a lonely hospital attendant, and ponders the value of the life of a photographer.

A word of caution to the faint-hearted, all the devices leading to deaths are gory indeed. Although not so much after death scene effects, the agonizing thought of how life is ended is far more gruesome than the picture may paint.

The trilogy is well connected, as such that it’s best seen in that order. Saw II develops further the role of the drug addict and explains further the background of how “The Jigsaw” became the person he is. Far more complex characters are introduced in Saw II. Each character has a story to tell. They range from a deluded teenage kid to a father who couldn’t let go. The plot in Saw II defines the danger of life when one holds on for too long. It subtly teaches us to learn to let go and move on in life. Retrospectively, the successor of “The Jigsaw” is revealed in the sequel. The killing device in Saw II is far more gruesome and you can expect better after death scene effects.

The life of “The Jigsaw” ends significantly in Saw III. The movie parts off questioning the purpose of the successor’s inhumane plots in Saw II and on the sideline attempts to save a breaking marriage. If you have a perfect life or a miserable one, this movie will surely change your perspective to choices in your everyday life.
